HERConnect Initiative provides culturally sensitive, complimentary mental health support for Black immigrant women and girls living in Calgary, Alberta.
Program Focus includes:
- Crisis response
- Counselling and therapy delivered by Black therapists
- Educational resources
- Community-building
- Advocacy tailored to African and Caribbean newcomers
How Support Is Delivered:
- 24/7 phone, text and online chat support
- Link workers and social workers to help clients access basic needs, referrals, and ongoing therapeutic care

- Ladies in the Family Foundation
- Alberta Black Therapist Network
- Hope Alive Ministry
Care Approach:
- Trauma-informed, non-judgmental care for transition-age youth, adults and older adults
