HERConnect Initiative provides culturally sensitive, complimentary mental health support for Black immigrant women and girls living in Calgary, Alberta.

Program Focus includes:

• Crisis response
• Counselling and therapy delivered by Black therapists
• Educational resources
• Community-building
• Advocacy tailored to African and Caribbean newcomers

How Support Is Delivered:

• 24/7 phone, text and online chat support
• Link workers and social workers to help clients access basic needs, referrals, and ongoing therapeutic care

Community Partnerships:

• Ladies in the Family Foundation
• Alberta Black Therapist Network
• Hope Alive Ministry

Care Approach:

• Trauma-informed, non-judgmental care for transition-age youth, adults and older adults
